Regulations and laws for issuing recruitment visas
First: A Saudi family may bring in a domestic worker or a private driver after meeting the conditions and financial ability.
Second: Approval to bring in a domestic worker requires the presence of children or a second wife or supporting the parents.
Third: Approval for another driver if the applicant has more than one wife and children in schools or unmarried employed daughters.
Fourth: Approval for every citizen who suffers from disability due to age, illness or disability, he or one of his family members who are legally supported, after submitting a recent medical report proving his condition and need.
Fifth: Approval to bring in the profession of a rest house worker under the following conditions:
- The area of the rest house must not be less than (1000 square meters) and owned by the applicant and registered with the competent government agency.
- No more than one rest house worker is approved, regardless of the justifications or the number of rest houses owned by one person.
- Availability of financial ability.
Sixth: An alternative visa may be approved for a domestic worker or private driver after issuing a final exit visa from the Passports Department (stamped on the driver’s or worker’s passport) and taking a pledge from the employer to leave and provide proof of that within two months and to indicate the employer’s record on the computer for follow-up.
Seventh: Non-previous cases are referred to the Personnel Recruitment Committee at the Ministry of Labor to consider those cases according to their data.
Eighth: Financial capacity is determined as follows:
- First recruitment case: 3,500 riyals
- Second recruitment case: 8,000 riyals
- Third recruitment case: 12,000 riyals
- Fourth recruitment case: 15,000 riyals
- More than four cases are presented to the Personnel Recruitment Committee at the Ministry.
Ninth: The justification or document for financial capacity is as follows:
- Government employee: A certificate from his employer specifying his monthly salary.
- Private sector employee: A certificate from social insurance specifying his monthly salary.
- Anyone who does not work in either the public or private sector must submit a new bank statement for six months with a monthly balance not less than the list mentioned in Clause Eight, as the case may be.
Tenth: The Director of Personnel Recruitment has the authority to exempt from demanding proof of financial ability in cases he deems appropriate.
Recruitment regulations and laws for women
Cases in which a woman is allowed to bring a domestic worker and the required documents to be provided
First: Widow:
- The woman’s civil registry.
- A legal power of attorney.
- A copy of the inheritance certificate and proof of widowhood.
- Proof of income for her or one of her children with a pledge to pay the expenses.
- A pledge that there is no previous file for recruitment in her husband’s name.
- A scene certified by the mayor with the testimony of two witnesses that she is not currently married.
Second: Divorcee:
- The woman’s civil registry.
- A legal power of attorney.
- Proof of income (certificate from the employer).
- A copy of the divorce certificate.
- A scene certified by the mayor with the testimony of two witnesses that she is not currently married.
Third: Married to a non-Saudi:
- The woman’s civil registry.
- A legal power of attorney.
- Proof of income for her or her husband.
- A copy of the husband’s residence.
- A copy of the marriage contract.
